People – Places - Possibilities The Position Grovewood Community Deveolpment, Affordable Housing Partners, is looking for a dynamic and adaptable individual to coordinate, promote and implement health-focused programs and services for residents. As the Healthy Lifestyle Navigator, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals with limited financial resources, including seniors and those with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include coordinating, promoting, and implementing programs and services that enhance residents’ well-being. Additionally, you’ll facilitate access to valuable community resources.

• You have demonstrated expertise in empowering participants with the knowledge and tools necessary for making informed health decisions through educational workshops and fitness activities.
• You have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, you can communicate with a variety of audiences, you appreciate the details, and you’re organized.
A Day in the Life Resident Programs, Services, and Community Engagement • Collaborate with the Healthy Lifestyle Director to implement resident programs and services that encourage equity and healthy lifestyle choices, including exercise, nutrition and food skills, mental health, medical/dental health, and benefits enrollment.
• Facilitate healthy lifestyle on-site programs and activities.
• Drive community engagement initiatives by designing and distributing community announcements, calendars, and flyers, and promoting Grovewood Community Development’s healthy lifestyle programs services.
• Build rapport and maintain professional relationships with residents, community service providers, and external partners.
• Respond to residents’ needs by connecting them with appropriate community resources.
• Participate in Grovewood Community Development Healthy Lifestyle meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and community events.
Administration and Record Keeping • Adhere to all Grovewood Community Development confidentiality and record keeping policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records for resident services.
What You Bring to Us • A bachelor’s degree in biological science, nutrition, nursing, health, human services, psychology, counseling, social work, or a directly related field or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• A minimum of 2-years of experience in social work or human services, health and wellness, mental health (including disparities and equity), health promotion, social work, or social determinants of health and human services, working in a nonprofit and with aging populations, families and/or people with disabilities, basic understanding of health and wellness including exercise, nutrition, mental health, medical/dental health, and healthy social interactions and understanding of community engagement and experience with programs, services and/or event planning are preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience, lived experience, and/or special skills.
• Proven computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, operating standard office equipment, use of laptop and smartphone are preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work and tasks.
• Bilingual proficiency with English being the primary language with Amharic, Korean, Russian, or Spanish is a plus.
• Adaptability to produce and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multi-task and changing environment. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. The ability to handle sensitive information with diplomacy.
• Travel between metro locations, multiple work locations.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Compensation: This is an exempt, salaried position, based on knowledge, skills, and experience. The salary range is $49,500 - $56,000 annually and includes Grovewood Community Development’s standard benefit package, including a medical plan, dental plan, vision, life insurance, holiday pay and paid time off.

The Legal Stuff • You need to be able to sit or stand for 6 hours per day. While not frequent, you need to reach for, and/or move 20 pounds and use your hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, mobility to access a wide variety of meeting and work settings, and to perform a variety of tasks that involve standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, and twisting, occasionally climbing stairs or using an elevator, possibly reaching chest high and overhead for materials, with reasonable accommodation.
