Here is what to expect:

DevOps Platform Senior Engineer role for the Modern Platforms team.

• Duration/Number of Hours: 240 hrs. in total ~ 20 hrs. / week ~ 80 hrs. / month--- 3 months total
  • The end customer understand this person isn't full time, more ad hoc with heavier hours in the beginning. As long as they are replying in a timely fashion with deliverables (1 business day) and proactive/communicative, the group is flexible.

Primary activities:

• Review vulnerability alerts within client's AWS environment and help remediate
• Train client's cyber security team on how to secure the environment and respond to security threats
• The engineer must possess expert knowledge and experience with the following AWS services:
  • • Guard Duty
    • Security Hub
    • Inspector
    • Amazon Detective
    • AWS Artifact
    • AWS Config
    • Cloudwatch
    • Cloudtrail
    • AWS IAM
    • AWS Shield
    • AWS WAF
    • AWS Firewall

• Looking at everything from soft skills perspective ( samples of questions are below)

  • How do you handle conflict?

  • Tell me how you work from a billing perspective. Whats your utilization?

  • How did you prepare for this interview?

  • Tell me about a time where you didn't do something right at work, how did you handle it?

  • How do you handle a missed deadline?

• Need someone who can listen to what the customer is asking, knows how to apply it, and can also ask questions and give recommendations

• Someone who can script but can also explain and teach why he does certain things to the client's security team

• This person must be able to be hands on cloudformation scripting to heal auomated vulnerability threats

• Be a liaison for best practices with the senior architect and VISO

• Can train/mentor, work around security hub and security apparatus

• The first interview won't be technical other than asking questions such as tell me what you do, your experience in this type of role, etc. the 1 st round is with the PM so he's mostly focused on softskills and process.
